Application for new front window and other alterations.

The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for refusal as submitted. The observation of the Town Council was for refusal on grounds of the design for the front window, although there were no objections to the alterations at the rear.

The applicant had wished for a new window to enable a sea view, and an architects impression of the finished scheme was circulated to members.

Members considered that this was one of the most picturesque views of Southwold with the lighthouse just behind, and further alterations to the front of the row of houses were not be welcomed.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to an amended application W10025/1 with the deletion of the front window proposals.
