V25-567 : W636/2 - 1 CATHCART STREET, LOWESTOFT
Application for change of use of ground floor from betting shop to residential, creating one overall unit. The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that conversion of the closed shop to a third flat in this very cramped site had been refused at minute V23 - 384/5, and that refusal had been supported on appeal. The present proposal was to combine the shop with the upstairs flat, creating effectively a family house with no outside amenity space or parking at all. Although not an ideal situation, the Director of Planning and Building Control felt that the Sub-Committee may consider this a more satisfactory solution to the problem. There were no highway objections to the application as the road outside the property was subject to residents parking restrictions, and the recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was therefore for approval. RESOLVED
That planning permission be granted to application W636/2.
