V25-540 : DRUGS ACTION TEAM IN SUFFOLK BRIEFING
As part of the Government's "Tackling Drugs Together" White Paper the Suffolk Drugs Action Team was working to provide a strategic county-wide approach to the complex issue of substance misuse and how this affected individuals, families and communities.
A briefing for elected members concerning the progress and targets of the Action team had been arranged for 5 November 1997 at the Police Headquarters, Martlesham Heath. The aim of the event was to raise the awareness of members on drug misuse and to raise the profile of drug misuse issues around the county. The event would provide information, workshop opportunities and an action plan for members. The Council had been invited to nominate three representatives. RESOLVED
That Councillors T. Carter, Francis and Holzer be appointed to represent the Council at the Drugs Action Team in Suffolk briefing on 5 November 1997, and attendance be authorised as an approved duty.
