Application for renewal of launching slip and dinghy pen.

The Director of Planning and Building Control advised members that this proposal was strictly contrary to Policy S5 of the Local Plan in that the site was located outside the area allocated for new landing stages. However, the proposal would provide disabled access and in line with other policies and it should be treated as an exception to Policy; he recommended approval subject to a timber fence and gate enclosure. The Town Council's observation was for approval.

The Sub-Committee agreed that this proposal warranted an exception to Policy, subject to the applicants providing a public notice identifying the disabled use.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W14761/2, subject to a timber enclosure and public notice.

(Councillor Goldsmith declared an interest in the above item, and left the room during the debate.)
