Application for coloured cladding and illuminated corporate signs.

The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for refusal, as the proposed signs were garish and wholly inappropriate and would not improve or enhance the conservation area. He suggested that any signs on this renovated cottage at the front of the site should be discreet and non-illuminated.

Objections had been received from neighbouring properties and the Beccles Society on similar grounds to those above. The Town Council had recommended approval.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application A/W627/2.
