V25-421 : PROVISION OF CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION SYSTEM FOR LOWESTOFT

Meetings had been held with the CCTV Consultants, Optimum Risk Management, and the preparation of the tendering documents was proceeding. It was necessary to advertise the project in at least two specialist UK publications, and these adverts had now been agreed and were due for publication this month.

Those installing companies replying would be carefully audited and a tender short list agreed. As well as selecting contractors, there would be procedural and managerial issues that would need to be discussed during the various processes. It was proposed that a Working Party should be formed to permit the proposed timetable to be followed and reduce the need for formal reports to members on each stage. Reports of a policy nature would, of course, be made to the members of this Committee in the normal way.

RESOLVED

1. That a CCTV Working Party be established to consider the procedural and managerial issues arising from the provision of CCTV to Lowestoft.

2. That Councillors Blowers, T. Carter, Kelly, Thorne and Whatling be appointed to the CCTV Working Party for 1997/98.
