Application for improvements to front boundary wall.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that this application was for fencing, which would improve site security, however, he felt it would be preferable to replace the railings which once protected this frontage.

Members concurred with the view of the Director of Planning and Building Control, adding that they felt railings would give more security than fencing due to people being able to see onto the site.

RESOLVED

That Suffolk County Council be informed that this Council objects to the grant of planning permission to application W5244/13 as it finds railings preferable to fencing.

(Councillors Francis and Rouse declared an interest in the above item, and left the room during the debate).
