Application for rear extension to function room and provision of marquee to be erected for up to six months a year.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that this application was to demolish some existing outbuildings and construct a function room with glazed entrance, and erection of a marquee for six months of the year.

There had been four objections from nearby residents based on their experience of the existing function room and marquee use, and in particular the control of noise output from the marquee. However, the Director suggested that noise restrictions could be placed on the marquee.

Members had no objection to the function room element of the application, however, they were concerned with possible noise nuisance from the marquee and suggested a six month approval with noise being limited by officers.

RESOLVED

1. That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to approve the construction of a function room at Carlton Manor, Chapel Road, Carlton Colville.

2. That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to approve the erection of a marquee at Carlton Manor, Chapel Road, Carlton Colville for six months, with noise restrictions at the boundary of the site for the marquee and function room.
