BELVEDERE ROAD CAR PARK, LOWESTOFT

The following item was considered as a matter of urgency, under the statutory provision accorded to the Chairman, following a recent site meeting.

Following refusal of the siting of the above cafe to the front of the Belvedere Road Car Park at the last meeting of the Sub-Committee, a site meeting had taken place with the applicant and car park manager at the site. The car park manager was still concerned over loss of car parking space, and the applicant had therefore suggested returning to the originally approved siting by the furniture warehouse for two adapted portable cafes. These were on two wheels and a stand, and could easily be moved in an emergency.

There had been complaints from nearby residents as the cafe was currently using a mobile generator, however, if sited by the furniture warehouse the portable cafe would be connected to an electricity supply. Waste and water would be self contained under the cafe and would be emptied into an authorised discharge point.

RESOLVED

That the report of the Director of Planning and Building Control, be received.
