Application for new loose yard facility and covering of existing collecting yard.

The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for approval, subject to a comprehensive landscaping scheme. The proposed structures were well designed in a modern style using sympathetic materials. However, the proposed landscaping scheme was entirely inadequate for a development of this extent.

The Director had consulted with the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Project who echoed the landscaping concerns, and advised that these large structures would only be acceptable with a professional designed and implemented scheme.

The Sub-Committee agreed with the above comments regarding landscaping, and concern was also expressed about the use of translucent roofing panels.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to grant planning permission to application W16828, subject to a comprehensive landscaping scheme and roof materials.
