V25-282 : MEMBERS' ALLOWANCE

Further to minute V24 - 609/15 revised rates of members' allowances were circulated. The new rates would apply from 1 April 1997 except the Basic Allowances and Special Responsibility Allowances would be paid from May 1997.

The reduction in the number of Planning Sub Committees resulted in the saving of one special responsibility allowance, 4.5 units. The following reports were circulated.

(a) the new rates of allowance
(b) the amended scheme for the payment of these allowances.

RECOMMENDED

That the new rates of allowances be approved and the Council's Local Scheme "The Waveney District Council Members' Allowances Scheme" be amended and published accordingly.
