V25-191 : HOUSING REPAIRS EXPENDITURE 1996/97

The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services which details the budget revisions for the above.

The revised budgets for various sectors of work was as follows (current spend in brackets):

Jobbing Repairs £536k (£462k)
Void Repairs £319k (£306k)
Servicing/repair/replacement £410k (*£422k)
*Based on the spend profile for 1995/96 and expenditure to the end of December 1996, the budget had been revised down from £468k to £410k. Expenditure during January and February 1997 had been higher than expected. Other commitments
Pre-repairs system £15k
Hollingsworth Court (10 properties R&M) £95k
Roman Hill (8 properties R&M) £200k
Duplex Flats (2 properties R&M) £30k
13 Minden Road had also been passed to Contract Services for repairs and maintenance works. Costs would be met from the underspend on jobbing repairs.

The overall position was that expenditure would be within the revised budget.

RESOLVED

That the report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services on Housing Repairs Expenditure 1996/97 be received.
