V25-179 : WAVENEY CONTRACT SERVICES - MEMBER FAMILIARISATION TOUR

As the membership of Direct Services Committee had almost completely changed from 1997/98, it was considered appropriate for Members to visit the facilities at Rotterdam Road and other locations to meet some of the employees and view the range of services delivered. A workshop type meeting where the future direction and policies of the Department could be discussed was also to be arranged; this was particularly relevant as the new Government was likely to change the environment operated in.

Councillors asked that client relationships and sub-contracting issues specifically be addressed at the workshop, and that reports be brought back to Committee.

RESOLVED

That a tour of the Depot and ancillary locations be held on the afternoon of 13 June 1997, and a workshop presentation be held on 16 June 1997 commencing 9.30am, at a venue to be advised, and attendance be authorised as an approved duty.
