V25-1659 : ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY 1998/99

The report of the Chief Executive detailed feedback obtained from the consultation exercise on the Council's draft Economic Development Strategy, which was approved at minute V25-1399.

It was reported that four late responses had been received from the East of England Tourist Board, Norfolk County Council, Norfolk and Waveney TEC and Business Link. In particular, these bodies sought further reference to the Shaping the Future strategy, and in the case of the Tourist Board raised points that were more appropriately handled with the framework of the Council's Tourism Strategy.

RECOMMENDED

1. That the responses to the consultation exercise on the draft Economic Development Strategy 1998/99 be noted, and the consultees informed of the Council s response.

2. That the suggested amendments to the draft Economic Development Strategy 1998/99 be approved, and the amended Strategy be adopted as the Council s policy document.
