V25-1658 : ENTERPRISE 2000 SCHEME

The report of the Chief Executive considered the future of support for business start-ups in the area, as core-funding for the current Enterprise 2000 scheme would be ceasing at the end of this financial year.

A new partnership scheme had been devised for the area in collaboration with Lowestoft Enterprise Trust and Suffolk County Council which would continue the programme in a revised format. This proposal could alter through consultation with partners but the essential outline of the scheme would remain intact.

RECOMMENDED

1. That a budget of £20,000 for the new Enterprise 2000 Scheme for 1998/99 be approved.

2. That Suffolk County Council be thanked for its continued support of the Scheme in Waveney.
