V25-165 : THE HEATH, EARTH LANE, LOUND

The Director of Community Services reported that an area of approximately 8.26 acres of land comprising part allotments and part open space was transferred to the Council on 1 April 1974 from Lothingland Rural District Council. Lound Parish Council became the allotment authority but were not prepared to take them over and Waveney continued the administration until the 31 March 1992 when the Parish Council finally took responsibility.

The land was very much in its natural state and the Parish Council had asked that the freehold interest on the 8.26 acres be transferred to them and they would carry out subsequent maintenance. The site was liked by the local community and its transfer to the Parish Council would be well received. The disposal would not prejudice the Council's interest and covenants would preserve the present use.

RESOLVED

That the freehold interest in The Heath, Lound be transferred to Lound Parish Council free of charge.
