V25-1630 : RETIRING CHAIRMAN

On returning to public session, Councillor Hunter asked that it be placed on record the Council's appreciation of the chairmanship of Councillor Derek Gower, who would not be standing for re- election at the forthcoming May 1998 elections. The Chief Executive endorsed this from the officers' side, and other members added their tributes.

Councillor Gower thanked the meeting for their tributes. It had been a pleasure to act as Chairman and to work with the many officers and members during his seven years.

The Meeting was concluded at 8.40pm
