V25-1623 : MANDATORY DISABLED FACILITIES GRANT APPLICATION
The Committee resolved that a decision made at minute V25-1591 by the Housing Sub-Committee on 24 February 1998 be rescinded, and a revised grant of £14,964 (including VAT) be approved to assist with works to construct a ground floor extension with bedroom and shower room for an elderly lady to receive appropriate personal care. The Meeting was concluded at 8.35pm

HOUSING INVESTMENT PROGRAMME

(a) Additional Central Heating Installations 100
This would be the launch of a "Millennium Project" to
provide all Council housing in Waveney with central
heating by the millennium.
(b) Security Improvements 100
A programme to improve security to vulnerable
properties. Improvements could include PVCu
doors, security lighting etc.
(c) Programme of security fencing to Council housing 50 This would target vulnerable properties backing onto
open space, communal areas, etc. where the risk of
burglary and other crime was high.
(d) (i) Social Housing Grant - Orbit Housing Association 25 Orbit own a site at Albion Road, Bungay, and were
successful in a bid to the Housing Corporation for
funding to develop six two-bedroom bungalows. The
site was likely to obtain planning permission for
eight dwellings.
(ii) Social Housing Grant - Orbit Housing Association 25 Orbit have been offered a three-bedroom mobility
bungalow at Carlton Colville, with planning permission
for two additional mobility rooms.
(e) Triangle Market development 100
This scheme would provide five three-bedroom family
houses and was designed to complete the street scene
to the north of the market, taking from view the gable end
of the former Devereux building and the carpet warehouse.
(f) Conversion of Peddar's Court communal facilities 40 The existing redundant communal building would convert
to form two two-bedroom mobility bungalows. (The proposal
was subject to the proposed review of Central Control).
(g) Additional window replacements 100
An additional 80 properties would benefit from double
glazed PVCu replacement windows.
(h) Cash Incentive Scheme 50
This could release an additional five Council houses.
