V25-1605 : CONDITIONS OF LICENCE - DOOR STEWARDS
The report of the Chief Executive considered a request from the door stewards liaison meeting to introduce random breath testing to enforce the condition prohibiting the consumption of alcohol whilst working. The Police Authority were prepared to undertake spot checks on the Council's behalf, and it was proposed that such a condition be imposed on all new licences as and when they were issued. In the interim, a voluntary system would operate and any door steward who refused to undergo a test would be advised as to his conduct. It was also proposed that the new condition should limit alcohol consumption at the drink driving standard. RESOLVED
1. That the conditions of door stewards licences be amended with immediate effect to prohibit a Door Steward from working when their alcohol intake is more than the limit set for drink driving. 2. That a new condition be imposed requiring door stewards to provide a sample of breath to a police officer or Council officer when required to do so. The Meeting was concluded at 5.40 pm
