V25-16 : INTERNATIONAL CHORAL EVENT - PLAISIR

The Chief Executive informed the Trustees that an invitation had been received from the Mayor of Plaisir for two delegates to attend the "Chorus International" event on the 10 May 1997 in Plaisir.

Many twin town representatives would be attending the event and choirs from Baixa da Banheira, Bad Aussee, Lowestoft, Geesthacht, Kuldiga (Latvia) and Plaisir would be participating. Lowestoft would be represented by the Wenhaston Boys Choir.

As the Council's delegates would be attending as guests as the Mayor of Plaisir the Trustees would only incur travelling costs.

The Chief Executive also informed the Trustees that the Lowestoft and Plaisir Twinning Association had asked for a contribution towards the cost of the Wenhaston Boys Choir attending the event.

RESOLVED

1. That the Chairman of the Charter Trustees and Councillor T Carter be authorised to attend the International Choral Event to be held in Plaisir on 10 May 1997.

2. That a contribution of £100 be made towards the costs of Wenhaston Boys Choir attending the event, to be met from within existing budget.
