V25-159 : BUNGAY BOWLS CLUB, HONEYPOT MEADOW, BUNGAY

The Committee considered the joint report of the Directors of Central and Community Services which put forward proposals to transfer maintenance of the bowls green to the Bungay Bowls Club.

RESOLVED

1. That the present Lease of Bungay Bowls Club be surrendered and a new Lease be granted for 21 years from 1 April 1998 at a peppercorn rent, subject to terms and conditions to be agreed, and to allow for general public use by agreement.

2. That the estimated cost of Ground Maintenance for 1998/99, less ground rent payable, of £6,250 be made available to the Club to purchase machinery necessary for the maintenance of the green.

3. That a leisure grant be paid to the Club to enable them to adapt to self sufficiency to assist with costs of topsoil, fertiliser, fungicide, lawn sand, hollow tinning and the like as under;

1998-1999 - £2000
1999-2000 - £1500
2000-2001 - £1000
2001-2002 - £500

4. That £2000 of the Leisure Grants budget be committed for the year 1998/99, producing a saving over the next four years of £13,750, and that the annual leisure grant figures for the years 1999-2002 as above be transferred from the Grounds Maintenance budget to the Leisure Grants budget.
