V25-1585 : GRANT APPLICATION - RELATE

The report of the Director of Cental Services concerned a request for a grant to maintain the "Relate" service in Halesworth. In view of its apparent urgency, it was brought to Sub-Committee rather than waiting for the next meeting of the main Committee.

The Council currently made a regular grant to the overall local Relate Service, set at £820 for 1998/99 from the Housing and Environment Services Committee budget. Relate had suggested an extra figure of £250. An unallocated balance of £2200 was available in the grants budget.

RECOMMENDATIONS

That an additional grant of £250 be made from the existing unallocated balance to assist with the continuation of the Relate service in Halesworth, the service to acknowledge that this donation was a one off payment in view of the situation.
