V25-1577 : MAINTENANCE OF SEAWALLS - NORTH LOWESTOFT AND GUNTON
The report of the Director of Community Services advised that the lowest tender received for maintenance works to seawalls at North Lowestoft and Gunton had been found to contain an arithmetical error. Correction of the error increased its value, although it remained the most competitive of those received. The Tenderer was made aware of the error and confirmed the corrected sum as his Tender offer. Acceptance of the corrected Tender was deemed to be a technical contravention of Standing Orders 6.8 which did not allow the adjustment of a lump sum Tender on grounds of errors in unsolicited information. RESOLVED
That the contract for maintenance of seawalls at North Lowestoft and Gunton be awarded to the lowest bidder on the basis of the corrected Tender sum.
