V25-1535 : NORFOLK STRUCTURE PLAN - DEPOSIT VERSION JANUARY 1998

The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control considered the background and context to the deposit version of the Norfolk Structure Plan, and in particular the relationship between the towns of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. Formal representation was requested by 16 March 1998.

RESOLVED

1. That the Council object to the Norfolk Structure Plan on the basis of a lack of consideration of the inter-relationship between Gt. Yarmouth and Lowestoft on planning issues.

2. That the Council support the Norfolk Structure Plan with regard to the following policies:

(a) Policy CS1 Sustainable Development
(b) Policy CS5 Whole Settlement Strategies
(c) Policy EC1 Overall Strategy for the economy giving particular priority to Great Yarmouth (d) Policy T1 Overall Strategy for Transport
(e) Policy T9 Strategic Links including the County Council pressing for improvements of the A47 east and west of Norwich and improvements to the A11 (f) Policy T13 County Transport Network particularly the proposed implementation of the A143 Broome/Ellingham bypass
