Application for the construction of two semi-detached houses with double garages.

The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for approval. Although previously refused for two dwellings on the site on grounds of over-development, the current scheme met previous objections regarding street scene and protected trees. The observation of the Town Council was for refusal as previously, preferring one dwelling only.

The ward member echoed the views of Beccles Town Council, whilst members in general were divided over the attractiveness of the scheme.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be granted to application W16520/4, subject to a condition for protection of the trees on the site whilst construction is in progress.
