V25-1510 : W13416/3 - LAND TO THE REAR OF 25/27 INGATE, BECCLES

Application for the construction of four cottages with garages and access road.

The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for refusal, as the proposed scheme would result in over-development. There was also insufficient distance especially at plot 3 to housing in Kilbrack because of limited aspect due to the restricted garden and the fact that the property was bordered by trees to the rear, and trees and the proposed road to the front. Additionally the design and layout did not compliment the existing Conservation Area. The comments of the Town Council were reported, and their observation for refusal. The Ward member felt that consideration should also be given to the first property (Plot 1) in the development having a front elevation aspect facing Ingate.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W13416/3.
