Application to construct a garage with dog grooming business attached.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that the proposed domestic garage would include a small room for dog grooming. Three neighbours objections were reported. The Director recommended that the use was acceptable on the above basis, subject to no kennelling on site.

The Sub-Committee were not minded to approve the proposal on grounds of setting the precedent of a business in a residential area. It was also asked that the applicants attention be drawn to a recently vacant and available former dog grooming premises in London Road South.

RESOLVED

That planning permission be refused to application W1883/2.
