V25-148 : LOWESTOFT PACKAGE

The Committee were reminded of the acceptance of the Lowestoft Package and funding awarded by this method and Capital Challenge.

The Director of Community Services had again been requested to compile this year's package submission to follow up on the work carried out in 1996/97. As the case had been accepted the opportunity would be taken to reduce the size of the document and focus on the work commenced and that which remained to be funded. Currently the existing Package was being reviewed in light of the latest draft guidance from GOER.

It was envisaged that the Vision and Objectives approved in 1996 would will be carried through into the package, possibly with additional objectives to take advantage of issues highlighted in the guidance. As the document evolved the Chairman and Vice-Chairman would be consulted on the direction being taken.

RESOLVED

That the concept of the Lowestoft Package and the Council's involvement in its production be supported.
