V25-145 : PIPERS LODGE HOTEL, LONDON ROAD PAKEFIELD, LOWESTOFT -

REVOCATION/MODIFICATION OF W6548/7

The Committee were advised that since 1983 the above property had been the subject of a change of use and other alterations and extensions resulting in the site reaching its development capacity for present use with on site car parking only sufficient to deal with planning approvals already issued.

As part of planning application W6548/7 in 1995 approval was given for a conservatory extension on the north side of the building measuring 8m x 6m. At the March meeting of Planning Sub Committee No 2 members considered a conservatory of a similar size on the south side of the building. It was intended that the conservatories become extensions to the residents lounge.

The Sub-Committee considered that approval for a second conservatory would constitute over development because of the inadequate on site car parking.

As the conservatory put forward on the southern elevation was the applicants preferred option Planning Sub-Committee No 2 resolved that the Director of Planning and Building Control be authorised to grant planning permission to application W6548/8 subject to voluntary revocation of planning approval W6548/7, without payment of compensation, and satisfactory on site parking. The conservatory approved under W6548/7 had not been erected and the applicants had agreed to the revocation.

RESOLVED

That the Chief Executive be authorised to revoke and/or modify planning approval W6548/7 to eliminate the conservatory extension in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 Section 97.
