V25-1431 : VILLAGE SHOP RATE RELIEF SCHEME

The report of the Director of Central Services outlined the new Village Shop Rate Relief Scheme which would commence from 1 April 1998, and would effectively replace Waveney's Village Shop Rate Scheme.

RESOLVED

1. That for the first year of the Village Shop Rate Relief Scheme all applications for discretionary relief be considered on their individual merits by the Finance and Land Resources Sub-Committee.

2. That Waveney's Village Shop Rate Reduction Scheme cease with effect from 1 April 1998.

3. That, based on the experience of the applications received in 1998/99, a policy framework be considered for 1999/2000 onwards.
