V25-1429 : BECCLES LOCAL OFFICE

The report of the Director of Central Services considered the future of the Beccles Local Office as the lease in respect of 10 Old Market, Beccles had expired and the Council were holding over.

The site was not ideal and a more suitable property had been found at 6 Market Street. The cost of alterations, floor coverings, decoration, heating and security was £13,000. The property was available on a seven year lease at £5,500 per annum, with a rent review after four years and an option for a further seven years.

RESOLVED

1. That the lease in respect of 10 Old Market, Beccles be terminated at the earliest opportunity.

2. That 6 Market Street, Beccles be leased for a term of seven years from a date to be agreed at £5,500 per annum, subject to a rent review after four years and an option for a further seven year term, to be met from the Other Services Capital Programme1998/99.
