V25-1375 : HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE TRAINING

The report of the Director of Waveney Contract Services outlined action taken to develop the Health and Safety Policy and increase employee awareness, in accordance with the department's Business Plan.

The Building and Highways Manager had been appointed as the department's Health and Safety Officer following the completion of an appropriate course. He had then instigated a Managing Safety course for representations from each section, which was run by Lowestoft College.

As well as day to day safety responsibilities, the new team of representations would meet six monthly with the Health and Safety Officer to audit the department's health and safety management.

The Chairman had presented certificates at the Sports Centre on 23 January to those who had passed the course.

RESOLVED

That the report on Health and Safety Training be received, and those successful employees be congratulated.
