V25-1366 : HOUSING MANAGEMENT CCT

The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services was considered as a matter of urgency, under the statutory provision accorded to the Chairman, as the matter had required swift resolution between the cycle of meetings.

Housing Management was to be subject to compulsory competitive tendering in April 1999. The Director of Housing and Environmental Services, in consultation with the Chairman, had appointed a consultant in early January 1998 to offer advice to the Housing Contractor in its preparation for the Housing Management Contract. The consultant was an expert on CCT and best value and had acted on behalf of the department when the contract was originally prepared in 1995.

RESOLVED

That the action of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services, in consultation with the Chairman, in appointing a consultant to assist on Housing CCT at a cost of £6,000, to be met from the existing Social Housing Fund Budget, be confirmed.
