V25-1362 : HOLIDAY PLAYSCHEMES
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services outlined the operation of the holiday playscheme last year and considered the budget provision for the playscheme in the forthcoming financial year. In view of the success of the playscheme and doorstep scheme, members considered it very worthwhile that the budget provision for 1998/99 for the service be provided again. The current Budget of £16,500 was fully spent with "Action for Families" subsidising the schemes with free administration, photocopying, and management of the schemes. The service would have far exceeded the budget without their support. RESOLVED
That consideration be given in the forward budget for the provision of £16,500 for the 1998/99 holiday playscheme and doorstep scheme, to be administered by Action for Families on behalf of the Council.
