V25-1358 : CONSULTATION DOCUMENT
RENAL REPLACEMENT THERAPY FOR ADULTS IN SUFFOLK
The report of the Director of Housing and Environmental Services included a Consultation Document and Questionnaire issued by Suffolk Health Authority on the above matter. Members were asked to consider the proposals so that a response could be made by 13 February 1998. The Director highlighted the lack of provision of Peritoneal Dialysis at James Paget Hospital, where only Haemodialysis was presently available. The acceptance rate for cases in Waveney was over 200 people per million population whilst Suffolk Health wished to lower this figure to 85 countywide. Members were urged to complete the questionnaire as an individual response also. RESOLVED
That the Director of Housing and Environmental Services prepare a Council response to the consultation document on replacement therapy for adults in Suffolk. (The Chairman declared an interest in the above item and left the room during the debate, and the Vice-Chairman took the Chair).
