V25-1357 : HOUSING REVENUE ACCOUNT BUDGET 1998/99
That the fees and changes for services under the direction of the Housing and Environmental Services Committee for 1998/99 be increased as set in Appendix B to the minutes. The report of the Director of Central Services provided a draft revenue budget for the Housing Revenue Account. The 1997/98 revised budget showed a saving of £176k when allowance was made for expenditure brought forward from 1996/97. The 1998/99 budget showed a deficit of £526k before consideration of increases in rents and charges. RESOLVED
1. That the Housing Revenue Account budget be approved, subject to the following increases in rents and charges: (i) That the following revised weekly charges apply from 6 April 1998: Grouped Homes Heating Charge 7.74
Wardens Charge 11.52
Central Control Charge 2.42
Other Services Charge 1.30
Servicing of Heating
Systems Gas 0.80
Electric 0.30
Caretaker St Peter's Court 3.12
Dukes Head Street 2.31
St Peter's Street 2.31
Chapel Court 1.54
(ii) That the following revised garage rents apply from 6 April 1998: Garages let to Council Tenants 3.95
Other Garages 4.55 + VAT
(iii) That the rents for dwellings for 1998/99 be based on the Gross Values at 31 March 1998 taking account of increases due to improvements during 1998/99 be deferred to 5 April 1999. (iv) That dwelling rents be increased from 6 April 1998 by an average of 90p per week and that the Gross Value Multiplier for 1998/99 by 889%.
