V25-1262 : W16413/1 - 2 BROOK COTTAGES, ST MARGARET SOUTH ELMHAM
The report of the Director of Planning and Building Control advised members that following a complaint, an inspection was carried out to 2 Brook Cottages, St Margaret South Elmham, to investigate the erection of a summerhouse and its possible use for business purposes. The Summerhouse was located within the curtilage of a grade II listed building, exceeded 10 cubic metres in volume, and did not relate sympathetically to the main building, and therefore required planning permission. The building was laid out for use as a small office comprising items associated with a commercial use, and was utilised for the operation of a chicken catching business. This conflicted with Policy E7 of the Local Plan as the unsociable hours of operation and traffic generation caused disturbance to nearby residents. RESOLVED
That the Chief Executive be authorised to take all necessary enforcement action to secure the removal of the unauthorised building at 2 Brook Cottages, St Margaret South Elmham.
