V25-1247 : W11668/5 - 160 BRIDGE ROAD, LOWESTOFT - UNTIDY ADJACENT LAND

The above property was located on a prominent corner of Bridge Road and Victoria Road in Oulton Broad. The land currently had planning permission for two dwellings, approved in December 1995. No buildings existed on the land which was being advertised for sale. A substantial amount of brick and rubble had recently been placed on the land as well as a steel container. The property as a result looked particularly unsightly.

The Director of Planning and Building Control had been informed verbally by the landowner that development of the site would take place early in the new year. However, there was no guarantee that this would occur and it was considered prudent to serve an untidy land notice on the owner of the property to ensure that the land would be cleared in the immediate future to an acceptable standard.

RESOLVED

That the Chief Executive be authorised to serve an Untidy Land Notice under Section 215 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1991 requiring the owner of the land adjacent 160 Bridge Road to clear and tidy the property, and to take all necessary action to ensure compliance.
