V25-1245 : "DILLONS", 137 OULTON ROAD, LOWESTOFT

This item was considered as a matter of urgency, under the statutory provision accorded to the Chairman, as the breach of condition notice was causing inconvenience to local residents.

In December 1996 Advertisement Consent was granted for the display of illuminated signs at Dillons newsagents, grocers and off-licence, 137 Oulton Road, Lowestoft. Due to the premises being located in a mainly residential area a condition was imposed restricting the illumination between the hours of 11.00 pm and 7.00 am daily.

In late 1997 and early 1998 residents living opposite the premises had complained on numerous occasions that the signs were illuminated outside the permitted hours due to the 24 hour trading that now took place.

RESOLVED

That the Chief Executive be authorised to take all pursuant action to ensure compliance with the terms of Condition No. 7 of illuminated advertisement consent A/W828.
