V25-1215 : W16669/1 - THIRD HARP CLOSE ALLOTMENTS, NORMANSTON DRIVE, LOWESTOFT

Outline application for redevelopment of allotments to provide nine dwellings with detached garages.

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that an application for eight dwellings at the above site had been refused at minute V24 - 322/5 on visibility grounds, although the Sub- Committee was also concerned at the loss of open space. The current proposal was for nine dwellings, but with revision could meet an earlier highway visibility objection. A footpath link to the adjoining recently approved railpath could also be included.

The recommendation of the Director was for approval subject to highway requirements being met and the deletion of one dwelling to improve the frontage to Normanston Drive and to allow a reasonable corridor of open space along the possible footpath link.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Planning and Building Control be given delegated authority to approve an amended application W16669/1 subject to highways requirements being met and the deletion of one dwelling.
