V25-1211 : A/W835 - 253 VICTORIA ROAD, LOWESTOFT

The Director of Planning and Building Control reported that advertisement consent was refused at minute V24-586/10 for the retention of an unauthorised free standing internally illuminated sign at the front of shop premises in Victoria Road. Consent was refused on grounds of visual amenity and potential driver distraction.

The Council's decision was upheld by the Department of the Environment following an appeal by the applicant. The sign remained in position and it was therefore considered that enforcement action should be instigated to ensure the sign was removed.

RESOLVED

That the Chief Executive be authorised to take all pursuant action to ensure the removal of the unauthorised sign at 253 Victoria Road, Lowestoft.
