V25-1164 : RURAL LEARNING CENTRES

The Sub-Committee considered the report of the Chief Executive which detailed an approach from Suffolk County Council Education Department seeking sponsorship to develop a "Learning Centre" in Bungay.

The project would provide opportunities for people in the rural areas of the District to have local access to training facilities and also assist business development. The project was one of four facilities being proposed by the County Council in rural Suffolk and would access Objective 5B funding.

RESOLVED

That a one off grant of £10,000 be made towards the Rural Learning Centre in Bungay, to be met from the Objective 5B Matching fund.

(Councillor Van Pelt declared an interest in the above item and left the room during the debate).
