V25-1129 : MAINTENANCE TRADING ACCOUNT - 1998/99 FORECAST

The Committee considered the report of the Director of Waveney Contract Services which outlined the uncertainty surrounding the workload within the Maintenance Trading Account for 1998/99.

For differing reasons, 1996/97 and 1997/98 had been exceptionally difficult years to deal with in terms of the Maintenance Trading Account. Both could have been better had there been the opportunity for greater planning of changing client needs and demands.

The same degree of uncertainty was promised for 1998/99 unless early decisions could be made. It was considered important that the Director continued to seek as much information from the Director of Housing and Environmental Services as was possible and every effort be made to ensure its early availability.

RESOLVED

That the Director of Waveney Contract Services and the Director of Housing and Environmental Services continue discussions to establish workload levels for 1998/99 at the earliest possible time.
