V25-1089 : HOUSING INVESTMENT PROGRAMME 1997/98

The Sub-Committee considered the progress report of the Director of Central Services. The Director drew the Committee's attention to the injection of £251k via the Capital Receipts Initiative. With this, the net resources figure became £3442k against a current programme total of £2934k, an underspend of £508k.

Subsequently the Director of Housing and Environmental Services had looked at the options in the programme for bringing forward schemes to meet the £508k figure.

RESOLVED

1. That the Director of Housing and Environmental Services continue to consider the options for meeting the projected underspend of Capital Receipts, giving priority to this Council's own stock in the areas of uPVC window installation and other heat conservation measures, to the benefit of tenants and especially those on low income in accordance with the Anti-Poverty Strategy.

2. That the Director of Housing and Environmental Services, in consultation with the Chairmen of the Housing and Environmental Services and Housing Sub-Committee's, be given delegated authority to revise the Housing Capital Programme accordingly with the benefit of those measures at resolution 1. above.
