V25-108 : W14548/1 - PIPERS PRIVATE MEMBERS CLUB, BURNT HILL WAY, LOWESTOFT
Application for alterations and a first floor extension.
The recommendation of the Director of Planning and Building Control was for refusal, as the application was considered to be overdevelopment, prejudicial to the amenities of neighbours, and could not meet car parking standards. Environmental Health had recommended refusal on grounds of extra disturbance, and Highways were concerned at the extra volume of traffic. Numerous neighbours objections were reported. The Director reported negotiations from the applicant to use space on the public car park serving the shops opposite. Councillors considered this, along with the increased traffic and noise disturbance in an essentially residential area, to be inappropriate. Members asked that in view of the number of objections, the existing volume of use of the Club also be monitored by Environmental Health and the Licensing Enforcement Officer. RESOLVED
That planning permission be refused to application W14548/1.
