V25-1077 : LEISURE REVENUE GRANTS REVIEW

The Committee considered the report of the Director of Community Services which reviewed the Leisure Revenue Grants system and proposed formal general criteria for grant qualification. It also proposed a number of quantitative and qualitative outputs which could be used to measure the success of the project.

The report considered three options for a grants system, one of no change, one introducing a system of tapering for all grants given on a yearly basis and one option which recognised the tapering principle but removed certain grant aided activities from the grants budget on the grounds that they were "core" projects which required continued revenue support.

RESOLVED

1. That the general criteria, quantitative and qualitative outputs for Leisure Revenue Grants as detailed in the report of the Director of Community Services be approved, and that application forms and guidance notes be amended to reflect these changes.

2. That the option to remove core funded projects from the Grants Budget and to taper any remaining habitual grants be approved.

3. That the availability of Leisure Revenue Grants be publicised more widely.
