V25-1063 : BUDGET
The Committee considered the report of the Director of Central Services which indicated the budget levels for 1997/98. The Director advised that the Council was conducting an extensive review of its General Fund expenditures. He did not expect any significant impact on the Museum's level of service. However, the Museum had used the Special Items budget to fund various improvements. For next year the Council might have to reduce the Special Item budgets as part of a collection of savings. If this happened the Museum's needs were unlikely to have a high enough priority to take a share of Special Items. He suggested that any surplus income this year could be reserved for minor improvements. Mr. Reed advised that the Trustees agreed to air conditioning equipment being moved upstairs at a cost of £500, and he proposed that this be met from the surplus income. RECOMMENDED
1. That the report of the Director of Central Services be received.
2. That the cost of £500 for moving air conditioning equipment upstairs be met from surplus income.
