V25-1057 : UPPER WAVENEY VALLEY COUNTRYSIDE PROJECT

The Committee considered the report of the Director of Planning and Building Control which outlined the progress and achievements of the Upper Waveney Valley Countryside Project and made a request for funding to cover the projects running costs.

The Project had undertaken many schemes which had a significant impact on local and visitors attitudes, and increased employment and understanding of the countryside whilst maintaining and enhancing its attractive character, wildlife habitats and amenities. The Project's work was considered invaluable for the protection and the enhancement of the special landscape character of the River Waveney Valley and was seen as good value for money.

RESOLVED

1. That a contribution of £4,600 towards the Upper Waveney Valley Countryside Project for 1998/99 be considered in the context of the forward budget.

2. That a contribution of £500 be made to assist the Project's 1996/97 budget shortfall to be met from the Local Plans Implementation Budget.
