V25-1053 : THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE, WILDES SCORE, LOWESTOFT -

CPO FOR ACCESS TO PARKING AREA

The Committee considered the report of the Director of Planning and Building Control which explained the need for Compulsory Acquisition of a strip of land in private ownership adjoining Rant Score. The land would provide access to the proposed car parking area for the Old Schoolhouse following its extension and conversion to a heritage centre and meeting rooms for the Lowestoft Civic Society.

RESOLVED

1. That a Compulsory Purchase Order be authorised in respect of the land adjoining Rant Score, Lowestoft shown hatched on the plan presented to Committee, in the interest of the proper planning and regeneration of the area.

2. That the Chief Executive be authorised to conclude an agreement with the Lowestoft Civic Society dealing with the processing of the Compulsory Purchase Order and subsequent sale of the land.
