Application for alterations to form new cottage and provision of garage facilities. W12876/3 - PARK LANE COTTAGE WEST, GARDNER ROAD, SOUTHWOLD
Listed building consent for alterations to form new cottage and garage. The Director of Planning and Building Control reminded the Sub-Committee that this application was approved in September 1997 subject to the deletion of garages, which had been agreed. However, the applicant now proposed an outbuilding in the same position to act as a foil to the new gable end, provide some screening, and house the boiler, service meters and refuse bin.
Listed building consent had not been submitted at the same time as the planning application for this proposal, and further consultation had therefore been undertaken. This produced 12 letters of objection, but these raised no new issues.
The Town Council had recommended refusal, as this was unacceptable infilling and overdevelopment of the site. A local ward member advised that the Town Council now found the application acceptable having viewed an illustration of the revised proposed, subject to the removal of permitted development rights.
RESOLVED
That planning permission and listed building consent be granted to amended applications W12876/2 and W12876/3 respectively, incorporating an outbuilding, subject to the removal of permitted development rights.
